Welcome to the Canada Square engagement hub!
This is where you’ll be able to access information about the proposed redevelopment of Canada Square, and offer your feedback on the plan for this important midtown location.
Oxford and Canada Square
Oxford Properties Group (www.oxfordproperties.com) connects people to exceptional places. It is the owner, developer and manager of some of the world’s best real estate assets. Established in 1960 in Canada, Oxford is owned by OMERS, the defined benefit pension plan for Ontario's municipal employees.
Oxford is deeply committed to Toronto; our head office is located here, and over half of our global employees live here. The future of the city, its economic health, and social well-being are important to us.
Canada Square is an existing mixed-use complex at the southwest corner of Yonge and Eglinton. The complex was constructed in phases between 1961 and 1987 and contains office, retail and entertainment uses. In 2017, a few years after acquiring its interest in the Canada Square site, Oxford began to consider redevelopment opportunities for the site.
Oxford’s goal for the redevelopment is to create a destination at the heart of Yonge and Eglinton that will embrace and connect to the neighbourhood, while adding value to the community.
Canada Square Engagement
In mid-2017, Oxford initiated a community engagement process for the Canada Square site which involved a series of events, meetings and a walking tour with local community groups, the Councillor’s office and the City of Toronto Planning Department. Feedback received at these meetings and events have guided Oxford as they worked through the initial master planning stages for the redevelopment. It will also serve as the starting point for renewed discussions with the community about the future of Canada Square in the upcoming months.
